Power Evangelism Activations Introductions

The power evangelism activations are the only activations that we do all together in one session. We do one session where we demonstrate and have the students do all the activations broken down as the first activation section so the students have everything they need to begin the practice of praying for people outside the building immediately.

We’ve found that the more we break down the specific steps of the power evangelism model the more helpful it is. We also have a resource card that contains the Power Evangelism model here in our On The Journey store if you’re interested. Just be aware of shipping time when planning.

Power Evangelism Activations Introduction

The first set of activations we usually do in the School of Kingdom Ministry is a series of clinics on power evangelism. This is because power evangelism is one of the core skills we want to develop in the course. We usually take the first clinic time to cover the general overview of power evangelism and two different activities that will help the students hit the ground running with power evangelism.

The first thing you’ll want to do is describe the why of this part of the school. Why are we practicing power evangelism on the streets? The reason is because this is a great way to get into practice for everyday life. We aren’t directly aiming at making people street evangelists; if they become one that’s just fine – but what we want to do is get people in the mode of taking risks and learning how to talk with people and ask to pray for them. Turns out practicing on the streets is one of the most effective ways to do just that.

Secondly you’ll want to introduce them to a simple power evangelism model. This will give them a simple starting place so that they can begin to interact with people. The model has four steps:

  1. Approach
  2. Assess
  3. Pray
  4. Explain

As you do the following activations, the students can work through the model and get comfortable with it. It should become a very natural process and just like other ministry models its meant to get you started and each person will eventually develop their own style & practice.
