How to Do Activations

The goal of Activations is to teach the students to do what they see the Father doing. Jesus said this was the key to his ministry in John 5:19. Activations offer a way to systematically do that. We’ve seen tremendous fruit in practicing in this way and we trust you will as well. It’s been at times shocking how willing the Holy Spirit is to participate in these silly little activities. He’s so willing to teach his people how to do this stuff!

There are a few different formats of activations as you’ll see in theĀ Activations Database, but in general you’ll want to stick to this methodology as much as you can:

  1. The What and the Why: Tell the students what you want them to do and what we hope they will get out of the activation on the front side.
  2. Model: Show the students what you want them to do and explain as you show it to them.
  3. Release: Release the students to try it out in whatever format fits the activation.
  4. Reflect: Help the students reflect on what they experienced so they can recognize it and be intentional in the future.
