Salvation Prayer

The final thing you’ll want the students to practice with each other is the explanation after the encounter, and potentially leading the person to a relationship with Jesus. There are two things you practice in this place:

  • Explaining the encounter to point the person to Jesus.
  • Leading someone to Jesus.

I’m not a fan of pressuring people into accepting Jesus, but some people are ready, and when they are we want our students to be prepared! I’ve found that many people haven’t ever led anyone to Jesus and some simple training can help them feel much more prepared. There are three steps you want to take a person through when they are ready to get saved:

  1. Make Jesus Savior: Have the person acknowledge they need Jesus to come and take away the wrong things they’ve done (deal with the sin problem)
  2. Make Jesus Lord: Have the person give their life over to Jesus to follow him.
  3. Fill them with the Holy Spirit: Pray to invite the Holy Spirit to come and fill the person so they can live a spirit-empowered life.
